Daddy Day to the Doctor

Yesterday, James took Piper and Phoebe to their 4 month old check up all by himself!  I seriously don't know how he did it.  Needless to say I am very impressed.  He managed to comfort for both babies while they had their shots, get all my crazy mom questions answered and then handle the after math of shots later that afternoon.

Dr. Ball was very happy with the progress that both girls are making.  Piper is now 11 pounds, 22 1/4 inches long and Phoebe is 10 pounds 11.5 ounces, 21.5 inches long.  It is hard to imagine that both girls were only 3 pounds when they were born.  They have come a LONG way baby!  Dr. Ball also said that both girls are doing great developmentally too.  He actually thinks they are a little advanced because in reality they should only be 2 and a half months old.  They are doing all things a two and a half month old can do and more!  James and I are thrilled with their progress and could not ask for more.

4 Months Old

Happy 4 Month Birthday
Piper and Phoebe!

I can hardly believe that Piper and Phoebe turn 4 months old today!!!  It seems like only yesterday James and I were praying and praying for God to give us a miracle.  He surely delivered and then some! :-)

Piper and Phoebe are both doing SO well.  They love to smile and have their playtime (especially in the morning).  They also love to eat, make baby noises, sing songs with mommy and grammie and listen to music.  Their favorite music to listen to is Disney (Daddy loves this)!!!  If they are grumpy all I need to do is stream Disney music on Pandora and they are as happy and calm as can be.  Yesterday Piper had a big first, she was playing with her Auntie Hillie-Bear when she laughed out loud for the first time.  I think it shocked all of us, but it was wonderful.  I love to see their little personalities grow and develop.

With September comes school.  I'm adjusting to teaching kindergarten (part time) and being a mommy.  Both are major firsts for me but I am happy to say that the transition has been great!  The days that I am at work Phoebe and Piper are either spending time with my mom or their daddy.  Both situations could not be better.  It puts me at ease knowing that Piper and Phoebe are in the best hands possible while I am away.  On the days that I am at home with the girls I am just trying to savor and enjoy every single moment.  They grow SO fast!!!

These babies are for sure pamper and spoiled.  James and I always joke that they have us and everyone around them wrapped around their little fingers.  All they need to do it make a little noise and someone is there eager and ready to hold them.  Last night us girls had some nice bonding time.  I know they both won't be able to fit on my lap like this for too much longer.  I have to enjoy it while I can.

Happy Birthday Phoebe and Piper, mommy and daddy love you to the moon and back!!!

Dinner with the Goldenberg's

Last night our dear friends the Goldenberg's had us all over for dinner.  Thank you Theresa for working so hard to make us a yummy meal. :-)

Haley and Caleb were SO excited last night because they got to hold Piper and Phoebe for the first time!!  Both kids were so gentle and good with the babies.  I can hardly wait to watch them all grow together.  We can hardly believe that Haley and Caleb will be welcoming their little sister Katie in about 3 to 6 weeks.  Having Piper and Phoebe over is good practice.

James, Piper, Phoebe and I are so blessed to have such wonderful friends!!

Trojan Football

Wow, I can hardly believe that fall is almost here!  Even though summer is my all time favorite season for many, many reasons, (warm weather, no school, my birthday, the pool, the beach, Disneyland and on and on I could go) I am looking forward to the fall.

Some of the reasons I love the fall:
1. Getting dressed up for halloween
2. Back to School clothes shopping
3. Eating Halloween Candy (especially candy corn)
4. Baking with pumpkin
5. Burning fall candles
6. Thanksgiving

But the main reason I am looking forward to the fall is USC football!!!!  I love watching my Trojans play and this year is even more exciting because James and I get to go to a game.  Wahoo....I can hardly wait!

Since today is the first USC game of the season I got Piper and Phoebe all dressed up in their USC gear.  Trying to get a picture of both babies smiling and happy at the same time is VERY, VERY hard.  I posted the pictures James and could capture.  I think they turned out pretty cute (if I do say so myself)!
