Gigi Visits

Today was a very busy day filled with firsts.  It was my first day back at church and the first time "Gigi" (my grandma) was able to visit Piper and Phoebe.

Being back at church was wonderful!  Oh how I have missed my Rancho church family.  It was so nice to be welcomed back with such a huge outpouring of love, smiles, well wishes and a TON of great hugs.  I can hardly wait to bring Piper and Phoebe to church with me when they are big and strong enough. :-)

The other first for today meant the world to both James and I.  My grandma, who just turned 94 in April, is a very special person in my life.  When I was a baby she watched me 4 days a week while my mom was at work.  I have such wonderful memories of spending time with both her and my papa.  One of my favorite things to do at my grandma's house was playing with her toes or trying to eat everything that was on my papa's plate.  There was just something so appealing about his food.  Why should I eat mine when he made everything look so good.

Watching my grandma interact with my babies was so incredible.  I never got to meet my great-grandparents and I feel so blessed that my children had that opportunity.  I look forward to more family gatherings where Piper and Phoebe will get to know their Gigi much better!

*On a side note I just had to add these pictures to the post because I am SO proud my amazing husband James.  He has taken to fatherhood so effortlessly.  He was meant to be a daddy!  I can't wait to celebrate his very first Father's Day with him this month!*
